Bahrain Travellers & Consulting

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Bahrain Travellers collects when you browse our website, request a quote, or book a tour, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your information under Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law and, where it applies, the EU/EEA GDPR.

Who we are (data controller)

Bahrain Travellers is the public brand and trading name of "Bahrain Travellers & Consulting", operated by E&C for Visitor Services and Assistance W.L.L., a company licensed in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are a first-party tour operator: we design and sell our own cruise shore excursions, guided day tours and experiences, and multi-day vacation packages in Bahrain, and we also provide business and investment consulting services.

For the purposes of the Bahrain Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018, the "PDPL") and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), E&C for Visitor Services and Assistance W.L.L. is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@bahraintravellers.com or by phone/WhatsApp on +973 32106126 during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Bahrain time).

What personal data we collect

Contact and enquiry details: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country of residence, preferred language, and the content of any message you send us when you ask a question, request a quote, or chat with us on WhatsApp.

Booking and traveller details: the tour, excursion, or package you book, your travel dates, the number and names of travellers in your party, and any information you choose to give us so we can run the tour safely and well — for example your cruise ship and arrival time, hotel or pick-up location, mobility or accessibility needs, dietary requirements, and emergency contact details. Please share special-category information (such as health or accessibility needs) only when it is necessary for us to serve you, and only with your explicit consent.

Payment information: when you pay online, your card or wallet details are entered directly with our payment processor, Tap Payments, and are handled on its secure systems. We do not see, collect, or store your raw card number, CVV, or full payment credentials — we receive only a confirmation of payment and limited transaction details (such as the amount in BHD, a payment reference, and the result). All prices and charges on our website are in Bahraini Dinars (BHD).

Website, analytics, and cookie data: when you visit https://bahraintravellers.com we may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at our site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy and in the cookies section below.

Consulting clients: if you engage our business and investment consulting services, we may also collect the business and project information you provide for that engagement.

Why we use your data and our legal bases

To provide and manage your booking. We use your contact, traveller, and payment data to confirm your tour, process your payment in BHD, coordinate guides and logistics, keep you updated, and handle changes, cancellations, and refunds under our cancellation policy. The legal basis is the performance of a contract with you (or steps you ask us to take before booking).

To respond to enquiries and quotes. When you contact us by email, WhatsApp, or our website forms, we use your details to reply and prepare a quote. The legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in answering prospective customers.

To run our business and keep it safe. We use limited data to keep records, prevent fraud, secure our systems, and improve our tours and website. The legal basis is our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.

To meet legal and regulatory duties. We may process and retain data to comply with Bahraini law, including tax, accounting, and licensing requirements. The legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

To send you marketing, only where permitted. With your consent (or, where the law allows, on the basis of an existing customer relationship), we may send you news, offers, and travel inspiration. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time, and doing so will not affect any booking you have already made.

Under the PDPL, we rely on your consent, the necessity of processing to perform a contract or take pre-contract steps at your request, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests, as the corresponding lawful bases for processing.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the parties below, and only to the extent needed for the purposes described above.

Payment processor: Tap Payments, which securely processes online payments (KNET/Benefit, mada, cards, and Apple Pay) and handles your card and wallet data on its own systems under its own privacy terms.

Tour delivery partners: the guides, drivers, and local operators who help us run your tour. Because we sell our own tours as a first-party operator, this sharing is limited to the practical details they need — such as traveller names, party size, pick-up point, timing, and any accessibility or dietary needs you have told us about.

Service providers: our email and messaging providers (for booking confirmations and correspondence, including WhatsApp while online checkout is being rolled out), website hosting, and analytics providers, all acting on our instructions.

Legal and regulatory recipients: courts, government bodies, regulators, professional advisers, or law-enforcement authorities where we are required or permitted by Bahraini law to share information, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

International transfers

We are based in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and your data is primarily processed here. Some of our service providers — such as payment, email, messaging, hosting, and analytics providers — may store or process data on servers located outside Bahrain.

Where personal data is transferred outside Bahrain, we take the steps required by the PDPL to ensure an adequate level of protection, which may include transferring only to jurisdictions recognised as providing adequate protection, obtaining any required authorisation, or putting appropriate contractual safeguards in place. For visitors in the EU/EEA whose data is protected by the GDPR, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and then we delete it or make it anonymous.

Booking and payment records are retained for the period required to fulfil your tour and to meet our accounting, tax, and legal obligations under Bahraini law. Enquiry and quote correspondence is kept for a reasonable period in case you book or follow up, and is then removed. Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. Cookie and analytics data is retained for the periods set out in our Cookie Policy.

How we protect your data

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, including encryption of our website connection, access controls, and using a reputable payment processor (Tap Payments) so that raw card data never reaches our systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will act in line with our obligations under the PDPL, including notifying the relevant authority and affected individuals where required.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the PDPL — and, where it applies, the GDPR — you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; to have inaccurate or incomplete data rectified; to ask us to erase your data; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw any consent you have given; and to receive a copy of certain data in a portable format or have it transferred where technically feasible.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@bahraintravellers.com or on +973 32106126. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law. Exercising your rights is free in most cases, and we will tell you in advance if any request is excessive or repetitive and would attract a reasonable fee.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences (such as your language — English, Arabic, or Italian), and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where shown, our cookie banner. For full details of the cookies we use and how to manage them, please see our separate Cookie Policy.

Children

Our website and booking services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children to market to them.

Children are welcome to join our tours as part of a family or group booking. In that case, the adult making the booking provides the children's details (such as names and ages) and is responsible for doing so. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements — for example when our online checkout fully launches.

When we make changes, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention. Please review this page periodically.

How to contact us or complain

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your personal data, or if you would like to exercise your rights, please contact us by email at info@bahraintravellers.com, by phone or WhatsApp on +973 32106126 (office hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Bahrain time), or by writing to E&C for Visitor Services and Assistance W.L.L., Kingdom of Bahrain.

We hope to resolve any concern directly with you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which supervises compliance with the PDPL. If you are in the EU/EEA and the GDPR applies to you, you may also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
